Sedona Sunrise: Hot Air Balloon Scare Factors

It’s been a few decades since Randy and I went on a hot air balloon ride. In my 30s I didn’t pay near as much attention to some of the scare factors like:

1. Morning coffee. You need a bladder that can hold it for several hours.

2. My weight. Yep. They asked for it and since I wanted the balloon to get off the ground and not come crashing down- I was honest!

3. Climbing in and out of the basket. I wasn't about to ask for a ladder.

While it didn't bother us, some of you might not like getting up at 4:30 AM to participate in a  hot air balloon ride. Take it from me a sunrise hot air balloon ride over Sedona, Arizona is worth getting up for!

We flew with Northern Light Balloon Expeditions. Our experience from set up to the champagne brunch went seamlessly. Our pilot Dan and his entire crew were awesome. Given all the labor and safety requirements these guys do during the process I would have understood if they had been less enthused and more fatigued when it came to customer service, but they appeared genuinely excited for us all to have a good time. It was obvious from the way they treated us they enjoy their jobs.
