"I'm an author, advocate, educator, and cancer survivor. My award-winning children’s book "Nuclear Power: How a Nuclear Power Plant Really Works!" was released in the aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. The book and I received harsh criticism from people who literally judged a book by its cover. It was the STEMS who defended me. The book is a creative spin on a schematic found in some science text books.
